How do I access my Addresso Book?
Current app version: 0.13.0
Addresso is proudly local-first / self-custodial, just the way things should be in web3. But this does mean you have to set up sync. 👉🏼 SET UP SYNC NOW 👈🏼
Access your Addresso
Access Addresso before you’ve set up syncing
When you first add an entry and so create an Addresso Book, it’s only stored in the browser on the device you’re using. In this case, you can only find your Addresso Book again by going to https://my.addresso.com in that browser on that device.
How will you know it’s the device and browser in question? … It will ask you to login when you go to that URL. If it doesn’t, try another browser on the same or different device until you find it.
If you’re certain it was a particular browser on a particular device and still don’t see it, then perhaps you use different profiles on that browser and you might try another.
While it’s very cool that your private information isn’t stored in someone else’s cloud, it’s not cool to have your Addresso Book available only in one place. Which is why we created sync.
We strongly recommend you get your Addresso synced across your browsers and across your devices asap. 👉🏼 SET UP SYNC NOW 👈🏼
Access Addresso after syncing
After syncing, your Addresso is available via any of the browsers you’ve set up to sync. Each stores all your Addresso data and so they also act as a backup should you accidentally delete a copy in one browser, by clearing the cache for example or losing a device.
Progressive web app
Addresso is a progressive web application (PWA). This means:
- You can access Addresso with any synced browser at https://my.addresso.com
- You can then also install the app to your device from the website.
If you are using Addresso as an installed app, it’s only possible to sign changes with MetaMask. Other wallets that may be compatible with MetaMask or have a compatibility mode will not work. This is a temporary situation.
Installing the app typically takes just a few clicks. Where available, you can find the instructions you need right here:
